I am Cedar’s mom, a writer, a blogger, a Christian, and more. My husband and I have been married for 18 years and have 6 beautiful children that we homeschool (did you just say…what??? Many people do). We love the chaos of our family. My passion was blogging at www.incidentalfarmgirl.com and sharing the ways we try to homestead, raise pigs, chickens, and children, garden and live a pretty much an unprocessed life.
When we had our 6th child he brought a number of surprises that, at the time, sent me reeling, but now, I see God’s hand in it all. You see, Cedar has Down Syndrome and for all my education and background (I was a social worker for 15 years) I knew very, very little about Down Syndrome. I figured if I knew so little and felt so much fear, because of my own ignorance, there had to be others like me.
Immediately a passion was born to help spread information, awareness, and help to others who, like me, are gifted a child with Down Syndrome.
If you want to read the first post I ever wrote just 2 weeks after Cedar was born, you can find it HERE. If you are new on this journey, sign up for our email list and check out Down Syndrome 101: Everything you need to know. Do stay in touch, I respond to all my emails.
So, pull up a chair, read along, and know that you are not alone.
