I have to admit that everywhere I go I am hypersensitive to seeing individuals with Down Syndrome. I love connecting with others. I search the face of every baby I see in public and feel compelled to say hello each time I see an individual, whether old or young, who happens to have an extra copy of chromosomal material like my Cedar.
This connection runs deep and without a word we understand each other on a level that parents of typical children can not quite grasp. We truly are part of the Lucky Few.
